Hunger at Purdue
Purdue University Houses 12, 290 bed spaces for students leaving nearly 30,000 as off campus residents. Of the 30,000 students living off campus, only 4,704 parking permits are issued for students outside of the boundary of campus to commute. Many of the rules, stipulations, and limitations of campus have pushed many students to have to use the bus transportation services.​
Student Transport
City Bus is the only option for students without a car to go grocery shopping. Admittedly, it provides adequate routes to grocery stores at West Lafayette-Lafayette area. However, it takes at least twice the amount of time compared to using a car and can be challenging in inclement weather not too mention the difficulties for one person carrying grocery bags .
